A well designed pneumatic conveying system is often a more practical method of transporting materials from one or more sources to one or more destinations. This way it can convey a product to any place a line would run.
Diluted phase conveying is essentially a continuous process and is the most commonly used method for transporting materials. Its characterized by a high velocity, a low pressure and a low air/product ratio whereas dense phase system is essentially a batch process, characterized by low velocity, high pressure and high air/product ratio (the number one reason to apply a dense phase design is when the product is highly friable or highly abrasive).
